I first got into graphic design through my music. As a musician, I needed to create promotional materials – CD artwork, flyers, and websites, etc – and something that began as a necessity quickly turned into a passion. Wanting to learn more, I enrolled in the three-year Graphic Design and eMedia foundation degree at Leicester College, and what initially started as a way to support my music evolved into a full-fledged career in digital and print design.

Here are some of my favourite projects 🙂

Carbury Nutz

Brief: Design bold, masculine packaging for the new Cadbury Nutz chocolate bar.

Solution: To evoke a sense of adventure, the design incorporates visuals of extreme sports and the great outdoors, reinforced by a strong, engaging strapline. A custom wordmark, inspired by Futura Bold, was crafted to give the brand a beveled, industrial look, enhancing its rugged appeal. The packaging features a bold, eye-catching colour palette, with each variety assigned a distinct colour: blue for milk chocolate, red for dark chocolate, and light brown for caramel.

Vitalogy Creatives

Brief: Vitalogy Creatives is a (theoretical) design agency specialising in the music industry. They wanted a brand identity that strikes a balance between professionalism and creativity, ensuring it appeals to bands and musicians while maintaining a polished, industry-ready look.

Solution: The logo features a clean and professional “VC” design, with the “C” stylised to resemble a vinyl record. Music-related icons reinforce the agency’s connection to the industry, instantly communicating its niche. These elements not only enhance recognition but also inject a relaxed and quirky personality – qualities often associated with musicians.

Magnificent Bouquets

Brief: This project was part of my final year at university, where classmates and I formed a team of five to establish a mock design agency. My contributions included logo design, website wireframing, and website development.

Key objectives:
– Develop a logo and establish a complete brand identity, including naming and visual branding.
– Design and build a fully responsive website.
– Produce a range of supporting materials for the client, such as letterheads, business cards, and invoice templates.

You can view the live site here. Please note that while the branding and website remain in their original form, the site has since been redeveloped by an external party.
